Multi-sensory experience of sight, aroma, sound, touch and taste

Event to explore each of the 5 basic core tastes “Sweet, Sour, Bitter, Salty and Umami” to showcase creative, luscious, playful and experimental cocktails. The Brand ambassadors were welcomed in groups of 5 and were taken on a tour through five sections to experience five tastes, each represented by one cocktail.

This event was a sensorial experience sponsored by Mount Gay and Remy Cointreau for drink brand ambassadors from around the world for One Night Only.

We arranged the bar into 5 areas – one for each taste were we presented the cocktail and provided the story with the taster. Each area was provided with lighting and props for photos to be taken by the press (and Instagram opportunities) and 4 bartenders serving at the same time.


A Dj played ambient sounds to create a sense of desire and exploration.


We welcomed attendees on the frontage of Three Six Six – team members were there with clipboards to welcome, tick off and organise them into groups of 3-5, ready to be taken inside at intervals of 5-10 min. We had a palate cleanser cocktail upon arrival to ease the wait. The group then moved into the first area, then on to the next, and so forth.

Attendees left the venue via the main front entrance to emphasise the experience.


Each area was embodied by a character – each member represented a different human feeling: classy, elegant, sexy, fun, interesting, unique, clever and quirky.

Drink: Mount Gay Black Barrel, Rum Punch, Barbados Island theme

Staff character: Tropical host and informative elegance

Glassware: Small barrels

The team gave welcome and explanation to press. Press and ambassadors were given a cocktail before being broken into groups of 5 for staggered entry into the bar. Each group was given a soft blindfold prior to entering.

Drink: Fish & Chips cocktail

Characters: Fusion between Turkish/Albanese/English counter service Chef/Fryer

Costume: Fishmonger apron / latex gloves / hair in chest and forearms / hat / boots

Glassware: Fish & Chips take away box, clear long triangular wrapped in newspaper

Props / Table: Fish and chips stand, grease proof paper, take away boxes and bags, salt, vinegar and oil aroma, hot light bulbs

Characters: Interesting and suspicious

Costumes: Fully dressed in black with white mask and white gloves to shine under Black UV Light

Props / Table: Barbados best food spices. Caribbean jungle smell. Quinine lamps. The station was all blackout

Characters: English sailors from 1700’s

Costumes: Sailor costume

Glassware: Long round see-through dish

Props / Table: Barrels, boats, sails, royal English navy, anchors, sugar cane, sugar molasses, samphire weed, sea, salt, coral reef, Caribbean, tropical island, palm trees, estates, vineyards.
